Glynn-Johnson offers quality overhead door holders and door stop controls, mainly for healtcare and other public facilities, and are designed to protect door closers from violent openings. While the best control device is operating overhead, always out of the way to avoid stumbling hazard or damage by accident and vandalism as in contrast with floor or wall-mounted stops.

Overhead holders and stops should also be used on doors furnished with door closers, as closers are not door stops. Glynn-Johnson overhead holders and stops are fabricated from top quality brass, steel or stainless steel materials, and are designed to function even under constant heavy-duty abuse, provided that all doors and frames be adequately reinforced to provide proper anchorage for the overhead stop to effectively distribute the load.
